Arts and Sciences
  • List was passed around.
  • Toki and Valgarth attened the lecture on Viking swords at Norskedalen.
Chatelaine
  • Conversed with three new folks from MacGregor, who attended the meeting.
  • Met with the Barony of Jaravellir's Chatelaine, who offered some great tips on recruiting in the college community.
Chiurgeon
  • The Kingdom Chiurgeon was at our Tournament of Champions event when the child fell off the slide. She recommended that the Shire have air splints.
  • On the strength of that recommendation, Gavin purchased a full set of air splits for $122.47, overspending his budget. Those present voted to reimburse him.
Chronicler
  • Will have a new Birch when her computer cooperates, and the living situation shakes out. [Insert joke about the cardboard box in the alley not having Wi-Fi...]
Marshal of Fence
  • Practice will be held every other Sunday and Tuesday evenings at 5:30 Myrick Park.
  • The list field is ready to go.

New business

Autumn Rose
  • Bronislava and Ahlwin have discussed what's involved in autocratting.
  • Ahlwin is working with Patricia for A.R.
  • The feast will be Middle Eastern, including shish kebobs and veggies.
Other business
  • Because a Shire can't Laurel anyone, especially for something non-period, Bronislava was made a Member of the (entirely fictious) Order of the Bay Leaf for coffee.
  • Webminister's persnickety note:   Coffee was part of Arabic culture from roughly the 9th century C.E. onward--initially medicinally, but eventually recreationally. Alas for European personas, it was not until the 1600s that coffeehouses started to spring up, first in trading centers like London, Venice and Marseilles, then inland in Vienna and Paris. Cafe au lait was not known until the late 17th century and espresso had to wait until after Napoleon's time.
