Meeting Minutes - April 2007

Present:  Kudrun, Bronislava, Gavin, Arnora, Valgarth, Ariella

The meeting was called to order at 2:29 p.m. at Copeland Park

Officer Reports

Arts and Sciences
  • Recent A & S moot turnouts have been good. The next one is scheduled for Thursday, April 26th.
  • Last moot involved helping Arnora decide what to make with fabric that had been donated by Bronislava's sister, the Lady Marwen.
  • R.S.V.P.s, including what you plan on working on, are very helpful for planning and most appreciated.
  • Discovered a shop in Black River Falls that sells brewing and beekeeping supplies.
  • The A & S list was passed around.
Chatelaine
  • One of the newer attendees at A&S night has decided to join the SCA; another is thinking about it and has already done some leather work.
  • The emails to the chatelaine account have tapered off, so Arnora will be posting at UW-L again.
  • Kudrun reported that we have another person interested in joining the Yahoo! listserve, but it came from the same address as the spammer that she recently banned.
  • Arnora moved again, and will be unable to host movie nights. If anyone is interested in hosting, please contact her.
Seneschal
  • The Shire had a good turnout at yesterday's (April 14th) Coronation in Silfren Mere.
  • There is a dance seminar coming up.
Webminister / Chronicler
  • Normally reports are due on the 1st of April, but both the Chronicler and Webmister reporting schedules were moved up by a month. Those reports were submitted on time.
  • The April Birch went out on time.
  • Thanks to Arnora for catching the mistake on the website that said that the April meeting was on March 25th, and also communicating that to folks who might have been confused.

New Business

Autumn Rose
  • Bronislava is Merchant Coordinator.
  • Gavin does not have a replacement/deputy lined up, so he will likely be the Chiurgeon.
  • Ahlwin has lined up marshals for the event.
  • We still don't have a confirmation from the Equestrian folks. Giving them a May 1st deadline, because we will need to line up insurance if they do come.
Other Business
  • Given the schedule limitations of Vitaliano and Maewyn, Kudrun asked Shattered Oak if they would be willing to provide lunch for Coille Stromeil's Silver Forest Ball in our stead. They did agree. Kudrun plans to volunteer in the kitchen anyway.
  • The next meeting will be at Myrick Park on Sunday, May 20th. Garb is strongly encouraged, as we will be more visible than usual. Bronislava thought that the prices charged by Peaberry's were high, even for a coffee shop, and suggested the Bean Juice coffee shop on Jackson and 19th Streets in La Crosse as a rain site. Those present agreed to adopt the suggestion.
  • The June 17th meeting will be at Copeland again, only nearer to the playground. Again, garb is highly recommended. The rain site will be the main branch of the La Crosse Public Library.

The meeting was adjourned at 2:49 p.m.
